megaphoneIS IT TIME TO PUBLICLY PROFESS YOUR FAITH IN JESUS?

There are, of course, many opportunities to publically make your faith known. You can display your relationship with Jesus at school, work, the internet, family, etc. However, the kind of Profession of Faith (POF) we are talking about here is a formal declaration in front of the Church that states that you are submitting yourself to Jesus as a follower and that you are prepared to fully engage as a member of His church -using your gifts and investing in the Christian community of Calvary.

That’s a big deal.

So, you think you are ready to do that? The Student Ministry of Calvary invites you to prayerfully
consider professing your faith in Jesus. We encourage you to talk with your parents about it and
then let us know if you are ready.

We do not want to rush you into this, but if you and your parents are confident that the time is
right, then go for it. We will help.

There are three steps you can expect to take in in preparation for making POF.
Click on "read more" to learn of the steps.

STEP ONE: MENTORSHIP
Students wishing to profess their faith will commit to meeting with an adult mentor in 6 sessions.
You will discuss your faith journey, consider what it means to be a life-long follower of Jesus, and
develop, with the help of your mentor, a personal statement of faith that details your understanding
of the Faith and your commitment to it.

STEP TWO: ELDER MEETING
You, along with your mentor, will meet with a couple of Calvary elders. This will be a time to share
your personal statement of faith with the elders. You will work with your mentor to prepare for this
time of sharing.

STEP THREE: PUBLIC PROFESSION OF FAITH
You will officially profess your faith publicly in front of the church community on a given Sunday
that works best for all concerned.
